Florence Hummerston Reserve, located at the top of St. Georges Terrace, provides a moment of green respite within the hustle and bustle within the City Centre precinct.
The upgrade of the reserve undertaken in 2011, provided an upgrade of paths, lighting, artwork and seating within the reserve, with the design intent to enhance the space with ‘….flowing horizontal lines that act in contrast to the surrounding high-rise buildings and impart a sense of playfulness as an antidote to the busyness of the city’.
Designed with the Landscape Architects from the City of Perth, the sculptural, powdercoated aluminium seats, provide a vibrant pop of colour as they curve throughout the site beneath the established tree canopy, complementing the beautiful old Chinese Elm and Camphor Laurel trees perfectly.
